The Alabama Economic and Real Estate Report is a monthly statistics report produced by the Alabama Association of REALTORS^® and their team of economists. The numbers and figures in this report are drawn from numerous government and proprietary data sources and represent best estimates at the time of release. As new data emerges, Alabama REALTORS® may, from time to time, update these figures to reflect more recent information.

October 2024 Report 

• Alabama had 4,880 home sales in October, marking a 8.6% decrease from the previous month and a 12.8% decrease from last year. 
• The median sales price decreased by 2.1% month-over-month to $220,196. This is an annual increase of 6.7%.
• The sold volume was $1.04 billion, down 18.8% month-over-month, representing a 20.6% decrease compared to last September.
• The 19,329 active listings at the end of October mark a 2.7% increase over last month and a 32.6% increase compared to one year ago.
• The 432 foreclosures in October represent a 0.7% decrease from the previous month and a 14.5% year-over-year decrease.
