2026 Primary Runoff Election Results Recap

Alabama voters went to the polls last Tuesday, June 16 for the 2026 Primary Runoff Election. Statewide voter turnout was very low at approximately 11%. The primary elections were successful for candidates endorsed by the Alabama Association of REALTORS® Political Action Committee (ARPAC). Ninety-two percent (92%) of ARPAC-endorsed candidates won. The endorsed candidates demonstrated a commitment to protecting property rights, supporting small businesses, and advancing policies that keep Alabama’s real estate market strong and stable. Below are several notable races.
In statewide races:
- Lieutenant Governor: Former Republican Party Chair John Wahl won the runoff with 57% of the vote.
- Attorney General: Lawyer Katherine Robertson won the runoff with 55% of the vote.
- Agriculture Commissioner: Douglas Mayor Corey Hill won the runoff with 53% of the vote.
- U.S. Senate: Congressman Barry Moore won the Republican runoff with 56% of the vote, while Everett Wess won the Democratic runoff with 55% of the vote.
- Public Service Commission, Place 2: Jim Zeigler won the runoff with 51% of the vote.
Notable legislative races include:
- House: Representative Frances Holk Jones won the Republican runoff in House District 95 with 52% of the vote. Representative Pebblin Warren won the Democratic runoff in House District 82 with 61% of the vote.
