Alabama REALTORS® Board of Directors May Meeting Recap

The 2025 Alabama REALTORS® Board of Directors met on Thursday, May 8 at the Alabama REALTORS® Building in Montgomery. 

The Board reviewed the 2024 Annual Audit, discussed legal challenges affecting our members’ businesses, reviewed current economic trends and forecasts, and updated the Board on pending Association projects.  

A summary of the action can be found below:

  • 2024 Audit Report: The Board of Directors reviewed and approved the 2024 Audit, which reflects a stable financial position for the Association. The Association's financial performance in 2024 ranks as the fifth-best year in its history.
  • REALTORS® Foundation: The Foundation awarded 26 scholarships during its fourth year. Congratulations to all the student recipients!
  • New Member Fair Housing Orientation and Continuing Fair Housing Training: The Board approved new Fair Housing orientation and continuing training requirements for members, as mandated by the National Association of REALTORS®.
  • Cybersecurity Policy: The Board approved a cybersecurity policy for Alabama REALTORS® to follow best practices and expert guidance to protect its data and systems. 
  • Legal Report: The Board received a public policy update covering AAR’s priority bills, the 2026 election cycle, legal updates, economic conditions, and national and state policy trends.
  • Annual Conference: Registration for Annual Conference 2025 is open! The conference will be held on October 14–16, 2025 at The Grand Hotel in Point Clear with keynote speaker Andy Andrews for the Awards and Installation Dinner.
  • 2026 AAR Officer, RVP, and Board of Directors: Applications for the 2026 positions of AAR Officer, Regional Vice President, and Board of Directors will launch in June.
